Hi just bought myself an 06 6mps and was recommended this site as well as total mps so thought it drop by and say hello.
Bought the mps as I missed my scobby but wanted the refinement and toys out if my passat. Only done 100 miles in it so far and can't say I'm disappointed well apart for the price of the tax!!!!

:welcome: along mate.

Fellow 6 owner here. Sure you won't be disappointed with your choice. When I bought mine it was between the 6mps and a spec D Impreza - every time I see an Impreza, I feel quite happy with my decision!

Your insurance should be considerably less than for a Scooby.

Cheers for the warm welcome.
Yes the mps is a lot cheaper to insure than the scobby so I guess that makes up for the tax.
My car has already been fitted with a 3 inch down pipe replacing both cats, and induction kit and it also has a Cobb v3 which if I'm honest confuses the fook out of me. I also have a banjo bolt to fit to the turbo to reduce oil pressure. I will be searching and reading up before any further mods but I've got baby due in 5 days so the exhaust and suspension may have to wait for a while.

Good to hear you have a mapping device with the DP too.
You buy the car from a previous MPSOC member then?

I assume the fuel pump has the upgraded HPFP internals? If it doesn't, you're dicing with death on your current setup.

No fuel pump is standard previous owner did say it would need replacing before any further mods but at present it's fine.

It's only running a stage 1 map according to the Cobb the fella I bought it from did show me and it's differently running stage one with indication kit and decat and believe this to be a generic map and not custom.
Will that be safe? The fella assured me it was as he said any further mods I'd need the upgraded internals. If I'm honest mapping and the Cobb confuse me I'm not mechanically minded in the slightest (or tech minded for that matter) so forgive me for being ignorant is it safe to run at stage 1? The fella did say it should be running 290ish bhp. I think it's more likely to be running at 270-280 but more importantly I need it to be safe. Spending another £250-£300 right now is a no no as misses is about to drop but I don't want to blow it up.
