hi and welcome, do a long idle test at least 10 mins and listen for any vvt issues and thats about it.

 just do your normal checks as you would when buying any car. Check that there is no smoking at idle after a few minutes for turbo issues. The mps can be quite a noisy engine so be prepared to expect some noises. There is a vvt fault to be aware of which can be expensive to fix so get a decent warranty if you can. There may be some other things that i have forgotten which others will mention soon.... Edit @ gavin you were typing quicker

Cheers lads, appreciated.
Apparently the VVT and timing chain were replaced last year but the invoice has been lost. Will go and view the car and hopefully the guy will be able to find it/get a duplicate from the Mazda dealer that did the work (it is a private sale).
