Well I finally took the plunge, after my Hyundai failed it's mod on 2 pages ( ) I decided I'd buy an MPS 3 MK1 today, so I did! been driving around for 6 hours and can honestly say I'm thrilled to bits.

It's a bit of a fixer upper with bits and bobs needing doing but nothing urgent. Roll on saving for the first mods - thinking headunit/gauges and a butterfly valve.

Oh, I'm Ben, by the way.

Possibly! This is my first turbo car so I'm new to all things FI, but I want the typical chatter noise when lifting off.. BOV instead of butterfly?

Ben I think you have some reading to do  welcome to :mpsoc: though :)

There are no butterflies involved though.

Ah I get what you mean now.
You can't run a BOV on these cars as they require the air to be measured the recirculated back into the system to get the correct amount of air to fuel ratio (AFR's)
Well, saying that, it can be done but is far from cheap. Including the BOV you'd be looking at spending £400+, for the sake of a bit of noise.
There are however adjustable recirc valves that you can get away with that dump a % of air out while allowing enough air to recirc to keep the engine happy. A GFP one for example

Thanks for that! Most of my questions will be turbo related in afraid! With that in mind I'll go ahead and skip the bov and jump into upgrading the fuel pump, that seems like the common consensus as a starting point

O another note, does anyone know if this is the cheapest I'll find something like a center triple gauge pod? I've seen a few post in the forums but they're all quite out dated now :/

It's HPFP internals you want, not a new pump.
Take this advice on board, stay away from totalmps, turbo pacs, BBRgti, litchfield.
Check out my sig for reasons on total.

What's an sri/tip?

Short ram intake, turbo inlet pipe

Ah I'm with you now, need to update on my acronyms! I've ordered some prosport gauges yesterday. Just need to source a center dash triple pod if I'm avoiding total MPS but I'll do that this weekend s
