Yeah that ^^ there is no way you should have been turned down for warranty work

That is not fair at all - surely if it has mazda history it doesnt matter where you bought it. I bought mine privately with full dealer history and have had the four tpms replaced under warranty -no questions asked . In fact they just replaced one again when it was in for 36k service.
