Hi all, I collect my new 3 MPS on Friday. I think I found the perfect example at a mazda dealers that I could. 58Plate mk1 with 12k on the clock with 1 owner (oldish chap) full mazda service history and car in top condition really in black.

Very pleased, was looking at getting one 3 years ago now and have been really wanting one but getting married having our first child has meant this has had to wait.
So deposit paid this morning fingers crossed for Friday.

Anyway hope to enjoy the site been a while since being on a owners forum 

Hi and welcome. I picked mine up last tuesday, and it sounds very similar to yours, only mine is in white. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. It is by far the best car i have ever owned. Do you have any plans for it yet?

Cheers guys, yeah 12k was very low really, had to laugh at the service book only around 3k driven a year the first couple of years. The guy seemed to be one of those change my car every 3 years kinda folk and traded it in back to mazda. Anyway his loss my gain... Mazda didnt want to budge much on the price which was a shame but hey ho I kept saying I wanted more for my trade in.
As for mod's I am not sure, nothing for a while as Mazda are putting another 1 year warranty on it.
Likely to just go for a exhaust and perhaps air filter with remap. But that will take some saving as our 6 week old baby girl is likely to come first :-)

Cheers for the warm welcome. I am based in Nottingham any other members local?

You would probably get away with a Hypertech remap because you could put your car back to stock if you had to go back to Mazda. Once the warranty is finished you could get an intake and reprogram the HT. Exhaust later. Good way of spreading the cost.

Just reading about the Hypertech, man that looks like a really good bit of kit.

Before the HT came along, the Forum was all talk of custom remaps and people's experiences - some good, some bad. Since HT, there have been some grumbles about getting it to work or faulty boxes, but generally the consensus is that it is excellent. Some say it is better value for money than an intake. The main problem is that you have to import it from the US, unless you want to go the FR&R route. If so, read the HT Group Buy thread first.
