Just bought a new Mk 2 mazda 3 mps, and i am really enjoying it, however having to go quite slow at the moment as i told the wife i would get the same fuel consumption as my 2.5t mondeo, done 200 mile and it is showing one block below half on the gauge. I have never had a gauge like the blocks shown on the mps, probably the only thing i have came across at the moment that i am not too sure about, hopefully i will get used to it, trying to work out how much i get to a block before it disappears,lol oh asnd i have told her the car holds 10 litres less than the mondeo, getting my excuses in now and i am wanting a remap, which probably won't help, but i will try

Remap will help fuel consumption, well that's what I told Mrs DLM anyway

welcome mate,i think your mrs will get a fright the first time she has it for a week and needs to fill it up lol.as said,a remap will help with economy providing the cars driven in the same way.

A remap will tend to help on contsant throttle driving (cruise) but will obviously use more fuel with the loud pedal. More power = more fuel innit

I tend to get exactly the same mileage out of my car since the remap cause I save on the motorway but use more on the twisty bits and it evens out.

Mk2, i think i am a traditionalist, i like the normal gauge's, but i suppose i will get used to it, looks like i am going to get roughly 280-300 miles from the tank, i used to have to fill up in the mondeo at 320 miles, but that had a 70 litre tank as opposed to 60 litre, so roughly the same, or that is what i am telling the missus,lol

nothing wrong with 280 - 300 from a tank, I am still aiming for 300 after 2 years

haha i have now done 220 with 4 squares left,lol that is economy driving though, with only a couple of boots to see what it can do, oh and impress the lads,lol

I only get 240 from a full tank in my MG at the moment. I have told the missus that this will be better in the MPS even though it's a turbo. Having just tested one today, i'm not so sure anymore!

In my 6 I can get nowhere near 300 from a tank. I think I'm getting around 230'ish to a tank just now, but I'm mostly town driving.

well had to fill up, with 30 mile left on the computer, i got a respectable (i think) 300 mile, 65 quid to fill up, which is different to my st which was 78 quid and roughly same mileage on a tank, so quite happy, hope the wife is,lol.

Has to be said it was mainly round town driving, with the odd blast, but with the wife in mind,lol
