Foxy - If it is the same "average consumption" info as the 6MPS, it is "litres per 100 miles". If so, 17 = 26.7mpg.

Excellent that sounds a bit more like it, could you please post a link or explain the maths, I used a conversion tool online but it did not seem to make sense compared to my own maths based on fuel used and miles traveled (probably the best way of doing it !)

Just divide the litres used on the display by 4.54 to get the equivalent in gallons, so 9.08 litres would equal 2 gallons. Then divide 100 by the number of gallons. So in this example 100/2 = 50 mpg. You will never see this figure with an MPS.

Lovely Thanks Foxy  Actually managed to get a 29 MPG run over 100 very mixed miles (heavy traffic, flowing m'way), pretty chuffed. Did have the family in tow so perhaps that explains it !

Didn't realise you had a 6MPS. I get between 21 in heavy traffic to 34 on a very long motorway run so your 29 is pretty good. You're right by the way, the brim to brim is the best fuel check but I have found it pretty well corresponds with the display average.
Just as well you didn't go for the R32. Pretty thirsty cars.
Just start looking forward to the winter. Sounds crazy but when you see those Beemers and Mercs sliding around it will put a smile on your face. It's the thing that my wife likes best about the 6MPS. The power frightens her.

The fuel maths is MUCh simpler if you do one calculation rather than all those other ones in your head

Just divide the number you see on your screen into 454.6 (obviously rounding to 450 for head maths is useful!). So if you see 20l/100m then you can very quickly work out that 20 goes into 450 22.5 times and that's your mpg innit

Oh, and :welcome: to the leet MPS6 club
