Hello,

I've got a MPS on order which should be arriving in a couple of weeks, so thought I'd come along and say HI :) I've ordered a lovely brand new white one! So if you see a girly with curly long hair and a big smile behind the wheel, that'll be me :D

I have a question ... To use an ipod with it and be able to change tracks etc via the steering wheel, will I need a mazda adaptor? Or an after market adaptor? I've had a quick look on the forum and can see a definitive answer.

Ta, Madvase x

Hello there and :welcome:

I bet you cant wait to receive your car :)

I have the mk1 3 MPS but the xcarlink adaptor gets my  for sure!
I'm guessing it would be this one: http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.php?p ... t=1&page=1

For the mk1 it's amazing quality and very simple to fit...however hopefully some of the mk2 guys will give you there opinion...I'm sure I've seen somewhere it's £400 from Dealers for something similar?

I have one of these xcarlinks sitting at home waiting to be fitted in my mk2 MPS! Parts alone from dealer I specced up to be about £160+. And then there is of course fitting of that kit (which I dont really have a problem with)

No doubt I will do a guide for the Xcarlink install for the mk2 mps. I think it will be a doddle!

Initially there was no facility to change tracks at all via the steering wheel but with iphone upgrade this function became available.

You can skip tracks but not select them if you know what I mean?

Welcome to the site BTW!

:welcome: to the forum and hope you enjoy your new wheels.

No excuse not to visit Beaulieu on July 10th for the mass Mazda meet, living down sarf

Have a look in the Meets index for details.

Ciao, N.
