Had my approved mazda6 mps for nearly two months. Really pleased with it - until the engine went... Still mazda warranty has come good for over 5 large! Any thoughts on things to watch out for once I get my MPS back? It's getting a complete new engine, pistons+cyclinder head block, but all the other bits'n'bobs have to be taken off the old one and put one the new one. Also, I read through the owners manually - suggesting not to run the car at the same speed to break the engine in. Does this mean using all the rev-range? And also for how long should you do this as I commute down the M4? Thanks for any help Cheers John

Welcome.
What went on the engine? Was it a con rod by any chance?
Running in is just a case of being "kind" to the engine. Keep the revs down but don't labour it. As you will know, 3K revs is 80mph so you won't have any probs on the M4.

my 3 had a new engine just before I bought it 18 months ago due to a fly wheel issue (so they found out after they removed it....) My advice would be for the first 600 miles dont race the engine and dont maintain a constant speed, either slow or fast for a long period of time. dont drive full throttle or high rpm and avoid full throttle strarts Thats my advice, as that what it said in my manual when i checked when i bought mine
