Hello, from Cambridgeshire had the MPS6 for 2 months now and really impressed, thinking of getting a custom exhaust on it soon but confused on the number of cats and which can be removed and still pass an mot and not cause any Faults vis sencers, any info would be welcome!!!! been quoted £650 Turbo back inc sports cat By CobraSport.

Have put a K&N filter swapped all the bulbs for upgrades to match the HID's put a stubby areil and fitted a parrott MKI9200 thats pritty much all WE have done sofar.

thanks people...so im better off leaving the downpipe standards and replacing the 2nd cat with a sports cat and rest of system in 2.5" or 3"(have you heard of any smoke issues with 3"?)

you can change the downpipe but it wont pass MOT for emissions, so if u do that you will need to change it every MOT. there is no probs running 3" system on the mps

Hello and :welcome: you dont have to replace the 2nd cat with anything when you remove it,as for 2.5 or 3in,just the noise difference to worry about,or not. Obviously you will get better performance results with the larger exhaust system.

Hello and :welcome: if you are removing both cat's you will need to replace the second cat at MOT time, if you are only removing second cat there is no need to replace for MOT's (well mine passed)

thanks again everybody.

Is thewre much difference between 2.5" and 3" on the noise and performance?

So if i leave the cat in the downpipe then that is the only one i need to pass an mot?

You would have to go for a re-map to fully benifit from an exhaust upgrade, but it will improve your cars output whether you re-map or not.I would sit down and have a good think before you start coz mods do run away with the dosh and are never ending,if you intend keeping the car for a while great, but the car, at the end of the day is well fast enough already.

Im running a 2.5 system and it performs well and sounds nice to, £650 sounds a good price with sports cat, mine was £480 for cat back.

A remap will cost £5-600 and there are 2 sensors in the downpipe 1 before & 1 after the 1st cat,no CEL should come on

thanks,
was going to get them to quote to make a downpipe with sports cat but may be a bit pricy with sensores etc so will prob do a system from the downpipe back with sports cat in either 3" or 2.%" depending on price.
