Hi all, my name's Frank (or Fronk, a nickname I picked up a while back in Inverness - try to pronounce Frank with an Inverness accent...) and I am the very proud owner of a 56 plate Titanium Grey 6 MPS. I just got it on New Years Eve - had to drive all the way down to Stockport (from Motherwell, just outside Glasgow) to get it and I am so glad I did! It's an awesome machine and I had a constant grin on my face for the 3 hour journey back home! :)

I had had a Toyota Corolla for over 4 years and was very reluctant to get rid of it as it was a lovely wee car. But, I just knew I had to get something better when we got pounded with snow and the Toyota was effing useless...I wanted something with 4wd, a bit of power and classy looks! Now, please don't laugh, but the very 1st thing I (thought) I wanted was an Impreza - 4wd, performance, looks, all that crap, until I saw inside one and realised that the interior design must had been subcontracted to a playgroup and put together by nursery school children. Apologies if you used to own a scooby, however, I'm sure you can back me up about the "interior styling"... I also did a quick check on Insurance and almost poo'd my pants when I saw how much it was... That was the end of the Impreza idea, which was a shame because I had always wanted one ever since I played Gran Turismo on PS1...fond memories!

I could go on but I don't want to bore you guy so I just thought I'd introduce myself and say hello to all my now fellow MPS owners, 3's and 6's alike!

Thanks for reading!

Hello and :welcome: you won't be disapointed with the 6 in the snowy conditions, but be warned the ABS is a bit too keen

That there is a mighty fine list of mods, sdg_3mps, where might one start to look for a few tasteful and inexpensive 6 mods???

Thanks for the suggestion daviemps, although, the only one thing I would complain about - and it's not really a complaint because it's not even the car's fault - is the ride comfort. It already feels like quite a hard, sporty setup so I thought springs might make it even worse! Is that not the case?

Yeah, I was thinking about performance mods to begin with but just small ones. I always thought the first thing I should be thinking about is a replacement to the standard air box. Isn't it pretty much always the case that the air box is overly restrictive?
