Hey guys newbie here. Even though i don't drive a mazda i'm a big fan of the new MPS. :)

I drive a 58 Seat leon FR tdi 170(running stage 2 dpf delete at 240.6 bhp and 432 lbsft of torque) Emocion red with a few mods on it.
Live in Largs, Ayrshire in Scotland. The reason i joined is because i am a big fan of the MPS a very underestimated car that looks great. I'm a massive car fanatic in general!
Just thought i would say hey to all you MPS owners  Anyone from the Ayrshire area on here?

Don't think a MPS engine could handle that torque. See other threads.

Cheers for the nice welcomes guys :) I've heard the mazda is almost diesel like in comparison with it's max bhp at it's optimum rev range. I'm sure there cracking cars to drive :) The leons max bhp is at 4200> the torque doesn't drop below 400 lbsft between 2000- just before 3800 rpm. Has an uprated clutch but is pretty useless in the wet below 4th:( But can return 45mpg pretty easily:) For a petrol motor are the mazda's not reeally torquey as standard?

Yes they are torquey little 4 bangers, they won't rev much compared to VTEC Yo!, but enough.

Lol not a big fan of type r's anyways. The MPS is a real cracker! I can't understand the reason for it not getting a lot of press when it first came out with a little under 260bhp in a hot hatch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :loopy:

The 6's are very different to the 3's. The 6's slingshot you out of corners with the 4WD, and they got even less press because they suffer with Japanese saloon disease.

Sounds great! Would love to have a shot in an MPS. I have noticed a lot of the new shape MPS's on the road. They have big road presence! The only thing i find slightly dissapointed is the alloys. Think they could have done better

JC on TG said something like that if you put a more prestiguous badge on the 6MPS you could sell it for a whole lot more. As it is you can get one for very little money, so it's good news for buyers. Not many about and you may have to travel for a good one.
