Hi everyone, I've just joined up as I'm looking at getting a 6 MPS. As my username suggests most of my motoring fun has been behind the wheel of an Alfa Romeo, 5 so far! I'm now wanting something to get me to work, something reasonably quick and a bit unusual - and that led me to looking at the MPS's Any tips on what to look for would be much appreciated, I'll check the buying guide now. Cheers guys, Jim

Thanks chaps Foxy, My first was a 145 Cloverleaf, which I loved so much I bought another for my Wife (then girlfriend). Then I after three years I replaced her 145 with a 156 2.0 Twin Spark. After 8 years with my 145, which was quite a quick car when I got it, was starting to be lacking a little against more modern machinery. So along came my 147 GTA. Wowzers that thing was really quick! Forget the figures, launching it wasn't the easiest, once it was hooked up you needed something really good to stay with it! I had the LSD fitted to it, so it was decent in the bends too. Just a little under damped if you hit a rough surface at speed. Last year I blew the trusty 156 up, so now have another 156, this one a 2.0 JTS. A favourite is hard to choose. My 145 handled superbly, I made a few mods and it would stay with my mates Clio 172 Cup all day. Also most people had no idea what it was and would try to leave me in their Veccy 1.6 lol The GTA was awesome though, the interior was gorgeous and that V6 every bit as good as they all say. If I hadn't started a family I'd still have it

My ownership of Alfas goes back to Giulliettas and Alfasuds. But I do remember that V6 and the gorgeous noises it made. It looked rather special too. My brother in law didn`t understand why I bought the Guillieta, him being a huge Ford fan, until I started up the Webber fed twin cam. His jaw just dropped, and that was before I moved off.

Ah, you've had some cool cars then Foxy! Yeah the Boxer engine on carbs in the Sud sounds superb, my mate had a 1.7 Sprint while we were at college. My introduction to them was when Dad bought an '84 GTV6 , I was about 6 and been hooked on them ever since! We've had a few other things over the years too, '93 Honda Prelude 2.2. The four wheel steering was impressive and it looked great. Had an E39 BMW 530d touring, ultimately fairly dull, but would knock on the door of 150 and super practical when you've got a baby!
