Hello,

Long term MR2 owner from Staffordshire here on the lookout for a MK2 3 MPS to replace my daily driver which is a 21 year old MK2 Rev3 Turbo running around 300bhp. I'm a bit of a car nut and do all the usual Jap Car shows and own:

JDM MR2 Turbo
JDM MR2 Auto G-Ltd
JDM MR2 3VZ-FE V6 conversion

And an old '76 MGB GT with Sebring kit.

Love the Jap cars, and downsizing the fleet by two to make way for a MK2 Mazda3 MPS to take care of the daily trudge and long distance treks to see my sister, so the MR2 Turbo can be my weekend toy and track car. The MPS just ticks all the boxes for a fun, drivers car that is, well, newer!

Kiz

The mk2 is a great all round performance hatch.
Very well equipped as standard and punches well above its weight.
A couple of mods will get you to 300 bhp 320-340lb ft easy.

Cheers, but want to keep it standard when I find one, I don't want to impede on the MR2 performance if that makes sense? It's probably sub 5 seconds to 60mph at Santa Pod (with a good launch - which I've yet to achieve before it blew it's Hg) but a mate has similar mods and is running 12.5's up the 1/4. So, something quick, stock tuned and reliable for commuting is my aim, the MR2 will be the silly drag / track weapon.

Paid a deposit after a test drive on Saturday of a 2010 Mk2 in Velocity Red, pick it up tomorrow. Stunning condition and relatively low milage. Only thing I might change are the wheels but happy as Larry with it :)

Pics to follow..

Well, I am now the proud owner of a 2010 MPS in Velocity Red with black wheels. Very impressed with it, and the condition. There is not a blemish on it inside and out, with full Mazda digital history back to day dot. If you could only see my smile now!

Loving the MR2 mate! I had a GT T-Bar for a few years and was gutted when it had to go. I sold my MPS a few weeks ago and would happily get back into another MR2. As for the Turbo'd MR - jealous doesn't even cover it

Nice MPS as well. Sure you'll be very happy with it.

Cheers mate, the MR2 is silly quick but I keep jumping in the MPS every day at the moment. Weather has a bearing on that though :)
