Went to see this (and another one in white) yesterday and seems to be ok apart from a chronic rattle on the front which I'm hoping will be an easy fix! Thinking of taking a punt on it and gonna put a deposit on today.

Anyone recognise it?

Ta

2nd decat and a K&N typhoon. Not mapped yet - that would be for me to enjoy :)

He's a subaru nut apparently but now trades from his drive.

Quiet start up and no turbo smoke (from my 20min test drive from cold). Do these older ones suffer from rust at all?

Also, why is the gear change so harsh from cold in these!? That's all 4 have been like that. Think this has a short shift too - not keen

Ok thanks.what to check though? He said he was going to get it mapped at area 52 as it's got the filter and 2nd decat. There's an invoice for a cobb Sri but would that be replaced by the typhoon now?

No one recognise it? Apparently some guy called Jonathan Fengeros ordered the chain and VVT kit from USA - something I've seen on the forum previously. Well there's an invoice for it anyway in the pack.

I don't think it's been mapped at all - it's the decat and induction kit that suggest it's 276bhp.

Who are reputable mappers around Manchester?

Think it was just rolling roaded at area 52 - I've asked for a copy of the printout anyway and emailed area 52.

MPS owners have been there already it seems - doing a search reveals:

Guess it's all easy enough to find on the forum then?

Salvageable then if it's had a bad one. I honestly don't think it's a bad car, drove best out of the 4 i saw and its the oldest! (apart from terrible knock from suspected arb d bushes)

As long as it hasnt been mapped id take a punt on it, if it has id walk away, many threads on here about companys that are reputable on other platforms that have totally fucked up with an mps to the extent of zzb, which is very expensive.

yeah that's what I'm thinking. I've asked for a printout/graph that he has - I stupidly looked at it without even considering WHO did what, I was more focussed on the VVT/chain and turbo.

He's text to say it is a knock from the ARB D bushes so is sorting this this week. Looks like it's a goer (as long as the graph doesn't show it was a remap or particular 'tuner' that I read a lot about!).

Thanks.
