Evening all, picking up my 6 mps next week. Don't even know the colour name, silvery blue!!!
Excited is an understatement. used to work at a mazda dealer and they didn't come in that often, always like them simply due to how rare they are, there is one local to me but I haven't seen another one around my way
Only thing it's missing is heated seats but that's no biggy, unless I've missed the switch!! Other wise, electric seat on driver side, sunroof, full leather, NAV with remote and the usual mps kit.
Full service history, having a full service by myself when i pick it up.
Will use these tyres up and then have a refurbished with fresh boots.
Drives really well, not rattles from cold, first thing I checked, pulls well with no knocks or bangs, can't wait to get it now!

Il leave it there I'm off the search the forum!!

What oils does everyone use?
Inc gearbox, diff etc
Does this have a wet clutch at the rear diff like the van crappie which needs oil changing?

So chaps and chappettes if there are any!!

Love it so far but....

Does need a timing chain etc, did hear a noise when I first got it, but has since got louder :'(
Never really heard it when I test drove it because it was warm but I did start it from cold, and as it sounded like most chained driven cars after an oil change, I didn't think much of it
Secondly the nearside headlight aim is pointing to the floor, the whole lamp inside is wobbly and I can see it move when a tap the lamp. Headlights are not cheap (xenon)

Where do I stand with the used car place I got it from? Citizens advice etc?
I can't really shit out £500 + for parts!!!

Is there a preferred spark plug? I've serviced it today and fitted ngk, it now has random misfire fault codes now

Is there anyone on here with the last name Cook who's dad name is mick?

Hi & welcome to the club mate

Seen as everyone seems to have overlooked your questions I guess I'll try my best haha In terms of where you stand with the used car garage you bought it from, take it back/let them know immediately. If you've only owned the car a short time they are 100% liable for the cost of repairs as under the Sales of Goods Act (recently updated) any purchase should be fit for purpose for at minimum duration of 6 months after the point of purchase.

The preferred spark plugs are NGK Laser Iridium but they need to be gapped properly, the required gap is 0.8

I'd imagine you have since got these issues sorted or began to get them sorted by now but there's the info if not. As for the earlier question on oil, most seem to use a 5w30 fully synthetic oil (which I will also be using)

Brad :hats:

as above apart from oil. 5w40 is actually the most preferred oil. dont bother with 5w30

Well it's still ongoing. I'm running today to make sure I can take it to them, again.
Last attempt hasn't improved it at all, yet somehow the idle now fluctuates.
Before was almost 1500 then lowering
No it goes to 1500 down to 1000 then back up to over 2000.
He will not tell me what has been done and since attempting to fix it the first time the mechanic left which I found a bit strange.
Ive also took the rocker cover off to check it and sure enough, marks on the rocker cover so proof enough it needs a chain kit..
