Hi guys,
So after owning a Mitsubishi galant V6 for a while iv had my eye on the MPS and knew it had to be my next car. Well yesterday I brought one. Haven't got any pics yet but its fairly standard looking apart from it has powder coated standard wheels and its grey. It does have some performance mods already on it. Induction, BOV and exhaust system which I know is not to everyone's taste.

It seems in good order, all 4 tyres are new, no blue smoke or funny noises and a years MOT. The bad bit it it doesn't have any service history So I am going to do all the fluids to be safe. Im going to get tax and insuranse sorted tomorrow so I hant had chance to take it for a proper drive other then the test drive at the dealer and a sneaky round the block. Still got to get used to the clutch which I know are a bit on or off. Il keep you up dated and pics to follow :)

What MPS is it?
Take that BOV off , recirc valve is what's needed on these

Welcome to the :mpsoc:

Which MPS have you gone for?

As mentioned above, pop in to your local Mazda Dealer, give them your reg. plate and they'll be able to give you your service record (assuming they have it on their DSR system)

Thank you for you warm welcome. I should have said, its a 6. Not sure what mk but its an 06 plate. I have noticed one slight problem, which could be related to it running rich with its bov which you have mentioned is not ideal. When I pull up to stop and depress the clutch, like at a junction or lights etc, the cars revs drop and it feels like it is going to stall for a second. Is this the BOV thats causing this or can I just adjust the idle control valve?

Cheers

There were only 2 versions of the 6: One fitted with sat nav and one without. What mileage is on yours and did you need to travel to get it?

My guess is that yours is an early 06 model with the snatchy clutch. Don`t despair, there is a free adjustment which lowers the pick up point on the clutch pedal. It doesn`t cure the snatch but it does make it a lot more comfortable.

Strongly recommend you sign up as a member. The best £20 you will spend especially as a newbie to the MPS.

Mine doesnt have a sat nav, it has 85k on the clock. I traveled to Manchester to get it. Yer the clutch has two settings, on or off lol So I will look into that fix. I will be paying up soon, Iv been a member of the club for my previous car and they are worth the money, I think I made it back a few times over on my car insurance club discount, plus all the knowledge is priceless.

Welcome!

Sounds like BOV or possible dirty MAF/dodgy O2 sensor. Could also be a vac leak.
