Hi. Just purchased Mazda 3 MPS Aero.Registered 2008 with 48,000 mls.Would it be a MK 1 or MK 2.Changed engine oil and filter ( 5w/30w) myself,very easy.After reading some reviews should have 5w/40.

That will be a mk1, though being an 08 it could be a facelift, what colour are your seats??  to the  btw

Noticed some smoke after ideling this morning for 5 mins.Oil level has not changed after service 500 mls ago.Any thoughts.

It is a Mk 1, what colour are dials on the speedo?
Red = Standard, White = Facelift
Also the dash area is glossy and has a MPS badge in the facelift version
Was it thick smoke or thin steamy smoke?

Dials are white.Smoke was more like a Taxi taking off.Drove to my work this afternoon,after start up just usual condensation out of tailpipe.After 25 mls arrived at work let her tick over and no smoke at all,clear as glass.Uses no oil.On the motorway floored it and no smoke.Mileage 48,000 mls.Tends to be at weekend when back and forth to shops with my wife ,short trips.Guess its just build up of shit on short trips not getting burned off.
