Hi folks, New to the forum and not a current MPS owner but will hopefully soon. I currently own a Mazda 6 Gen 2 Takuya. wife is being given this one so I have a chance to buy a little toy so what perfect way with a Mazda 6 MPS. I saw some of yours up at Japfest last year and they're beautiful cars. So I'll be about hunting for one. I see one which has my Eye at present but was hoping to pick up a pre 23rd March one (Yeah I know they're gold dust) Looking through Insurance right now and it seems really hit/miss, I am the following 27 years old 6 years license 6 years NCB 1 Non at fault claim (hit head on in Jan last year) My current insurers Flux wanted around £700 from me, Admiral was over £1,100 and the best I've found was through Prestige Car Insurance for £600. (This is with Mods Declared and a MPS running at around 285 BHP which isn't bad considering it's almost double the BHP of my current 6. Anyway, hope to see ya'll around.

Welcome along buddy.
Forum member Ivor hatton has a silver 6 for at the moment. Its had the turbo and timing chain sorted which are the two main problems with mps' s along with a few tasteful mods including a build in tablet install. Deffinetly worth a look. Ill point him in the direction of this thread.

Thanks guys... Someone showed me Ivor's MPS but if I am honest I am looking for a 300 BHP horsepower model than Ivor's upped spec (basically due to the fact that I would probably kill myself in anything bigger) and upping from the 165BHP to 300 is a big leap as it is

You would be saving money with ivor's imo as the turbos been upgraded and 8th has a new clutch! So that's money you wouldn't have to spend in the future. Think of it that way!

Hi and welcome to the family. There is no 300bhp model out the factory, all of the mps are 256bhp/280lbs ft standard Dont worry about the extra power modded 6's and standard 6's, it has all the traction you need to handle it, one like Ivors from the forums is a safe bet as his 6 has had plenty of care and attention and has all yhe right mods and is tuned properly, another thing to watch out for when buying second hand is who tuned them. Very few uk based tuners can actually tune these correctly. We have sky and Chris Knott on here that do members discounts on insurance (not sure if you have to be a paid up member or not to the forums) i would personally recommend Chris Knott seeing as I have been with both companies. I pay £595 a year with all mods declared and i have 5 protected NCB and running around 310bhp in a mk2 3

I may look at Ivors again but a little out of budget, may see if I can stretch to it. Viewing Ipadman6s six next Wednesday too.
