Welcome to the forum mate!
Once the engine is hot let the car idle for 10 mins, if there's no smoke then the turbo seals are fine. Check for rattle from cold start. Possible vvt/chain required. (That's at the drivers side of rocker cover)
These are common problems with the mzr engine. Some of the 6 boys will be able to advise move on the 6

to the mate As kgb says apart from rattle on cold start as most will have this until the oil has made its way to the top of the engine, you need to start it let it run for a bit then switch off and restart, if it does the noise again then its a sign of vvt/chain on its way

Here's a few extra things I'd add: To check to see if the car's been launched a lot previously, keep all windows up and turn off all noise makers (fans, radio etc.) 1. Do a few hard launches and listen out for a clunk from the rear - if there is then your rear diff mount bushes could be shot. You are looking at about a 5 hour labour bill to sort but the good thing is that you can put poly bushes in there or uprated mounts and not have to worry again (at least for a long, long time). The rear will squat when launching on OEM bushes but with poly bushes I find there's hardly any squat at all. 2. Check the rear springs, if the car has been launched a lot then the springs will have been taking a lot of punishment. Fortunately, it's multilink suspension at the rear so the shocks and springs are separate. OEM springs are about £150 each but you can pick up a set of four Eibach 30mm lowering ones for £120 from the fatherland and it shouldn't effect your insurance (worse case very small charge). If the springs are bad you'll notice that there'll be less gap in the wheel arch in the rear than the front wheels. 3. Try driving really slow over some uneven roads such as a car park that's suffered the weather etc. If you can hear a rumbling noise from the front but can't feel it in your steering wheel then if could be your front shocks. If you hear a clunking/knocking from the rear then it could either be your rear diff mount bushes or your rear springs. If the springs are really shot then you may also hear a clanking when going over sharp bumps. 4. Check that the air con works, the pipes under the air box can rust and also the front a/c unit can get hit by stones. 5. Check that your rear heater strips all work. Sometimes people put stickers on the rear windows with strong adhesive and this can damage it. 6. Check that all the windows work from the driver's console in the door. If they don't then it may just need reset which is just a case of putting each window down and up at their individual buttons on each door. Then try again from the driver's console. If they still don't work then there could be another problem. 7. Check the cabin filter, it's a good sign of someone who looks after their car. Dead easy to do, it's behind the glove box. Just squeeze the sides of the box to release it and disconnect the soft-open hinge (it just unclips easily). You'll see a rectangular cover inside which just pulls off - remove filter and inspect. 8. Check the bolts under the bonnet etc which hold the body panels together. If the paint on the bolts and the body is broken then the panel has been off - could be an accident repair job. 9. There are more bushes in this car than a Bangkok brothel. If you can grab a torch and try to inspect the rubber bushes underneath on all the suspension pieces. Fortunately, it's quite easy to get aftermarket parts for the suspension and reasonably cheap. In particular check the front end suspension: lower rear arms. Hope this helps

Ebay, a German supplier here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Eibach-Federn-Pro-Kit-Mazda-6-GG-2-3-T-MPS-ab-Bj-10-05-/130708342919?pt=DE_Autoteile&hash=item1e6ed30887 (link opens in new window) Although I'm none too happy at the moment due to the excessive delivery time. It clearly said it would be with me in the UK by 02/05/14 latest, but he's saying that's for Germany only and also trying to blame holidays (there's only 1 public holiday in Germany at that time). However, from the tracking I can see that it took him five days just to send the thing - I could have driven to Germany, picked them up, come home and fitted them quicker than it took him just to get to the post office lol If they don't arrive in the next few days I'll be cancelling. Good price though.
