Hello,

My name's Jorge and i'm 32 years old.
About 2 weeks purchased a 6 mps 2006 model.
The car was from a old man, really... 85 years old, and is in exterior bad shape, interiors are good and have 118K Km +/- 73000 Miles

I think in Portugal exist's only 3 mazda 6 mps, so i registered here to know more about the car.
Just for looking i already know that have the vvt problem, make a loud ticking for 2 seconds when start.
I was thinking that was from the broken plastic's in the front when i bought, my mistake... it was a good thing to make the price cheaper. :)

Hope having and giving a good contribute to the forum.

Best Regards
Jorge

Hello and :welcome:
Sorry to hear you have the VVT issue.
You can get the parts from edgeautosport for £300
Then get a side street garage to fit it for you.

Hello,

Thanks!!!

The car was on dealer for maintenance in the previous owner, they changed the chain and chain guides, etc, and didn't change or checked the vvt... :really:

Is the price to pay for a rare car... Already made a complaint for a free repair.

Glad you complained.
Over here, if the car was sold with a fault, they legally have sort it for you.
Hope they do it for you

You can "get away" with 95, but the stock map is tuned for 98. :smash:

Hi,

The mazda Dealer, told me that never changed the vvt, and the mazda Portugal didn't extended the guaranty of that piece.
Next Tuesday they will check if the vvt is damaged or if was a mounting error of the chain. But is certain the vvt piece damage.

they must assume the labor time and i only want to pay the vvt piece. :chin:

In Portugal are 95 and 98 RON.
It existed the bp ultimate 100, and the repsol V-power. but no more... :(
The price for 98 isn't cheap. About 1,737€ for 1 liter. : vmad :

When i and some friends make trackdays, the octane booster is a good friend!!! :)
