Until you shoot a rod , get the hpfp NOW i wouldnt drive it . I take it ,you are running a stage 2 cobb map with both cats out ? We are running a group buy at the mo http://mpsowners.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=17171 (link opens in new window) It's only running a stage 1 map according to the Cobb the fella I bought it from did show me and it's differently running stage one with indication kit and decat and believe this to be a generic map and not custom. Will that be safe? The fella assured me it was as he said any further mods I'd need the upgraded internals. If I'm honest mapping and the Cobb confuse me I'm not mechanically minded in the slightest (or tech minded for that matter) so forgive me for being ignorant is it safe to run at stage 1? The fella did say it should be running 290ish bhp. I think it's more likely to be running at 270-280 but more importantly I need it to be safe. Spending another £250-£300 right now is a no no as misses is about to drop but I don't want to blow it up. you'll be around 285 with the safe stage 1 map with your induction kit (thats if it includes turbo inlet pipe [TIP] ) He's right that next would be wise for the HPFP internals next. A custom map will squeeze you safely nearer 300.

So I'm not likely to throw a rod anytime soon then? The plan for the car is HPFP and full exhaust system also have to banjo bolt mod to do. Money's a little tight as baby is due in two days so I'm working when I can being self employed allows me to but means I'm not earning great once everything settles down and the £'a start rolling in again I'll treat the 6 to some love.

When you say full exhaust system, if you mean from the turbo back, that'll require a map right away

I already have the long decat pipe so will be going for a cat back system. Before I do that I plan to get my head around the Cobb v3 so I can use a generic map straight away then get a custom map written to get the best out of it. First thing will be a HPFP.

With a 3" downpipe that Stage 1 tune is not optimised for your car. Are you able to post a WOT (Wide Open Throttle) log from 2500-6500rpm on here or PM me and we can have a look to ensure all is okay for you?

OP.
If i read this right you have a cobb stage 1 and a fully catless system .Even if you dont have a catless system the cobb stage 1 map could put your car on the threshold , i know you have a 6 so you may well be getting away with it just below that <1500 psi fuel pressure threshold .
Logging is easy with the cobb ,just go to logs and hit start .download accessport manager from cobb and upload your map to the forum or facebook.
If your truly worried about the bills the car can throw up when mistreated ,get the logs up sooner rather than later and we will tell you what you need to do next.

Will deffo need HPFP internals to allow hiking the load targets to exploit that DP though. No doubt Justin will have it sorted in a jiff
