The Cobb Ap is a great bit of kit, the V3 is the newest version with a better screen, lots on here use them, me included, can be used to tune or you can use valet mode if going to the garage ,there's even an anti theft map, had my 6 just over a year and love it, tuning can get addictive tho........and pricey!

I can't comment on the cobb from a personal perspective, but from the reading I've done on here it's a great bit of kit and I would buy one myself if I was to start from scratch.

My concern would be the competency of the guy using the software and what map he is running - worth asking some questions before buying (especially given that he appears to have used his camera upside down   ). To be fair, it sounds like he is either knowledgeable on the mps or has done some reading before selling, as the vvt change is a big plus (very common issue and approx. £450 for the parts). The air intake is also a "must have" mod - worth asking some questions about what type etc. Also, I'm pretty sure there was a recall on the car for the bubbling alloys, so good that the wheels have been done.

All in, if the seller can answer the questions and give you some confidence, I would say that it's a good buy for the age and mileage.

Have you driven a 6mps before? Where are you based?

you can download maps off the Cobb website to match the mods you have, or in my case off the JBR website as I have their intake, you can go from stage 1 stock up through various increases-I have a stage 2 off the shelf (free) map on mine and the improvement is amazing, the tunes are regarded as safe -some would say safer than stock. A custom map or etune can also be done using Cobb which is even better. Also very useful tool for reading error codes and monitoring stuff like knock, boost Afr's looked at the ad and it says lots of the right things, VVT done etc which is an expensive job, would definitely think it worth a look.

It seems good .

make sure you check all the usual car stuff , see if he has any reciepts for the work done etc .Make sure it drives true and straight then make sure everything works.screen wash , all the windows etc.

good luck and you might end up with a fast bargain barge

Depends where the damage was and how good it was repaired.
