Hi all,
New member from Birmingham. Have just traded in my Saab 95 Aero (Hot) for a 96 Mazda 6 MPS. The dealer has sorted the VVT problem with a new chain and has refurbished the wheels with a black powder coat. I picked up a problem with a non working air-con, dealer says he'll get it re-gassed, hopefully this is all that's wrong with the air-con. He phoned me last night to tell me his mechanic had also picked up a "problem with the electric window switch pack on drivers door".
So now I'm just waiting for the call to say it's all sorted.

Is there a "posting photos to the forum tutorial"? Trying to post a pic from Flickr :help:

Welcome along mate. It's a good forum and loads of helpful members/threads.

Might be worth getting the garage to check the air con pipes. Apparently a common problem with them corroding.

Another Midlands six, cool, welcome, friendly bunch round here. Window controls might just need resetting (using it''s own controls take each window down a bit then kepp holding up for a few seconds after it's closed until you hear a click), might be worth getting them to check that first.

Thanks gents for the very warm welcome. Been looking for a 6 mps for some time now, just waiting for the dealer to pull his finger out so I can collect it. Frustratingly, work commitments now mean the earliest time for a pickup will be next Monday.

Hi sternritter, I have a link from Flickr but it wont work when I insert it between the img brackets on this forum. I'll get my head around it eventually.
Thanks for your post above, I'm in Sunny Sth Birmingham.
Dealer has just texted me to say switch pack now sorted (Must have read this thread) car in for regas and may be ready for tonight! How b****y frustrating, I've gotta wait till Monday.

Hope they changed more than just the chain for you.

The pipe work on the AC on the mps's are known to be poor and often have a crack.
Hopefully it's just outa gas as new piping is £200-250

It`s those pipes which go to/from the condenser. I had a leak in my a/c which wasn`t that. In fact the a/c people couldn`t find it so they put Leak Stop in and that fixed it. It was very slow. Took 3-4 weeks to get below 40% gas.
