Hi all.

Newbie mps owner here from Newcastle, although I live in Rochdale now. And work Near Inverness. fml. Haha.

I pick up the mps on Monday and as most people here I'll be getting straight into the performance mods. I'm thinking :
Sure aeros kit from tosl mps for £329
Or Cobb Ap from the same place.
Then possibly up rated TMIC.

Let me know your thoughts, can I run the intake, TiP without mapping ? And what's best to do first.

Adam.

Hi mate and :welcome: .

Personally, I would buy Cobb AP or Versatuner first as you can tune with stock parts, and get a "safer" map on straight away. You can then tweak your tune for each modification that you fit.

Welcome along mate.

I went straight for the sure sri/tip and remap from totalmps and love it, but with hindsight I agree with orinoko. If I could do it all again, I would get the cobb ap first along with the sure sri and tip.

I don't know what I'm doing with maps/logs etc, but a lot of very helpful people on here. If I stayed closer to totalmps, I would be happy to continue to pay for their services, but a 300 mile round trip for a map tweak is not easy to justify! I guess it all comes down to how comfortable you are using the cobb (or similar) yourself and your proximity to a reputable tuner.

Good luck anyway. :mpsoc:

Agree on Cobb AP first - I'd price up all your option before choosing an intake, sure is possibly worst value for money intake on the market.

If I was starting again I'd get Cobb ap then HTP intake.
Rochdale eh, local lad.
I work in Dale. Near sandbrook park.
Where are you based?
Kenny.
Btw, :welcome: :wwp:

Thanks for advice guys. So Cobb ap and versatune seem to be the most popular, is the hypertech unit any good ?

I think I'll be on the lookout for a second hand sri, tip and intercooler if they come up, just to keep costs down actually.

Well I'm actually a Geordie lad but I now live in Whitworth, just past Healey Corner to be precise. So not to far away.

In it's day, hypertech was great. But now far better devices are available, ie the Cobb & versa.
My best mates are Geordies, I go up a fair bit like, it's a canny place :D

Yeah whitworth isnt far at all.
Always up for saying hi to new members face to face.
