Been lurking on the forum for a while, finally decided to join. From what i have seen, you guys seem a great bunch of lads. And the lack of MPS forum here where i live, motivated me to join. Hope you guys are nice to foreigners Previous car was Stage 2 Saab 9000 Aero. Loved it, it was very well equipped and quite fast. Great highway cruiser. But as it was almost 20 years old and required a lot of money to be put in it to be mint, it was time to move on. Have owned Cosmic blue Mk1 3 MPS since June now. Needless to say, i love it! As i had to live without a car for 3 months, finally getting it was very exciting. It's 2007 and it had ~ 64k km(40k mi) on the clock when i got it. Price was 7000£, got it down to 6700£ at the end. It was advertised as having 300hp. Was told it has remap. That seems to be bit high, with just a remap? Anyways, it felt quick enough Since then i have done 4.5k miles without any serious problems. Changed oil, spark plugs and will be doing some suspension work, as few things need to be changed. Here are some random pics from the day i got it. http://foto2.inbox.lv/z-air7/myMPSOnly worry at the moment is, that it seems to be a bit sluggish. It doesn't feel that quick at higher rpm's. From around 3.5k to 5.5k rpm. Any ideas? I hope i'm not going mad. Have had the car checked at Mazda and few other places. Everything seems to be normal. Will be taking it to one other lad, let him have a look at it. If nothing comes up, don't know what to do, maybe get it on rolling road, to see if it's under powered. Anyways, that's it for now. Cheers Ronnie

Hi Ronnie and to the club. Do you have anything to record any parameters from the car? Torque app on android or similar perhaps?

Did the sluggishness happen after you did something to the car? Have you checked for boost leaks as the rev range is the max boost area? Are the plugs the correct ones for the remap and are they gapped correctly?

Hello Ronnie and If you haven't done anything to the car before the power loss then perhaps putting it on the dyno should help expose faults with fueling etc. As mentioned, I'd check there isn't any boost leak as well. I hope you get it sorted!

Putting it on a dyno while it's poorly is maybe not such a good idea, with the stresses involved?

Hello to Love the 9000, If you still have it drop the 234r into the 3, it's a much more capable engine

Thanks for replays.
About the data logging. That was one of the things i was planning to do. I guess i need to order the bluetooth adapter thingy first. Is there any particular adapter i should be looking for and do you need to go for the expensive end, or some cheap one will do?
The sluggishness appeared on it's own. Nothing was done to the car. After that i went to Mazda. They said that the car seems to be fine, no errors or anything. They blamed the map. So i went to a garage, that specializes in ECU tuning. Only problem is, they weren't the ones who did the remap. And i can't find people who did. Previous owner is unreachable, as he has left the country. At least that's what the dealer said. So i went to that garage, they said they will run diagnostics, but said, that it's unlikely that it's the maps fault. So they did it and said everything seems ok. So i was back to nothing. Only good thing is, they did it for free.
After that i went for maintenance to Mazda, Changed Oils, plugs etc. Now that i think of it, the plugs were Denso ITV20, probably a mistake, as i should have went for step colder ones ITV22. So that's the story in short. Major problem is lack of Mazda garages and specialists here. And guys at Mazda doesn't seem that competent and willing to help. But as i have read, it's like that everywhere.

If you have access to an android phone or tablet, you can check the car with an app. Torque pro it's called, then you need a Bluetooth obdii, from eBay. The other route is mapping devices such as Cobb access port or versatune, but these arnt cheap but they are fantastic. Only problem is if the Ecu is locked from the garage that mapped it.
