Hi Guys. After much deliberation picked up my 6 MPS today, Black 56 plate. Drove nice but management light on, on way home (motorway 150 miles but took it steady) When you give it some beans, big hesitation, if build up slowly no problems. Not the start i was looking for but hopefully it won't be much. Dont think it's been used much lately. Laters

:welcome: to the forum. Not a great start at all! Let us know what the code is if you can and stay off the boost meanwhile! Good luck and hopefully nothing serious

Same as above.
I assume you got it from a garage?
They're liable for all repair if so

Welcome to the forum mate! Hopefully it's a cheap fix if you didn't get it from a garage

:welcome: to the forum. Hopefully it should be an easy fix however there have been quite a few faulty purchases recently. I must have been quite lucky when I got my mkI 3 mps aero as I had zero knowledge about things to look out for in these cars and to make matters worse, I wasn't given any warranty.

That did not bother me much as I had already travelled nearly 300 miles to get there, train ticket cost me £101 one way and I wasn't about to go back empty handed. I took the car knowing that warranty or not, it does not infringe upon my statutory rights, that is if any fault should develop with 4 months of owning the car besides consumables like worn discs and pads.

I have had the car for 12 months now without any problems at all :)

Hi Guys thanks for the support. Purchased it privately. My mate has a diagnostic tool so when he is back from holiday (next week) i will see if i can identify the fault. Have to say despite the fault felt very nice on the way home. I'm sure it will all be worth it when she's sorted out.

Checking the condition and the gap of the plugs is the best start

Spark plugs are mentioned a fair bit
