Hi all, Ok hands up... I've had this account for quite a while, in fact a very long while but not been on here much. I've owned my N/A 6 since Mar 09 and it's never let me down and I've always had the want for an MPS. Just wanted to say hello and get some advice really as although I know a fair bit about the 6's... my knowledge doesn't stretch to the MPS! Do the pre 23/3/06 registered 6MPS's still hit band K in tax? or are they all L now? Are they like rocking horse sh*t? if K's still exist? Expected ~25MPG (Motorway ~25 mile commute)? Rough budget for a K band, <50,000 mile? I'm currently getting around 33MPG in my 6 Sport so the drop wouldn't be that huge, I'm weighing up my options to see if the upgrade is a possibility I know forum people like pics, this is my current 6 although lacking the Turbo of the MPS! Some may recognise me from another forum I run.

Alright mate. Welcome to the forum. I've had my 6mps for about 6 months now and It's in the band L tax category. I went to view one other 6 which was in the band k tax category and had less than 50k on it and also saw at least one other for sale on Autotrader. The one I went to see was in excellent condition, 44k, and the guy was asking £5k for it but said he would do a deal. If I remember corectly, the other one on Autotrader was a bit more expensive (£5400 I think) and mileage was mid 50's. So in answer to your question, I don't think you will struggle too much to find a band k 6mps with around 50k on it - just be patient and ckeck the usual websites regularly. In the end, I paid £5500 for a band L 6 as it only had 20k miles on it, had the fsh and was garaged when wet, so thought it was worth the extra £200 or so a year in tax. As for mpg, I pretty much only use mine for a 10 mile commute to work. About a third of that is in 30mph zones and the rest is reasonable motorway traffic and I average about 25mpg. On the rare longer motorway drives, I can easily get over 35mpg if I drive at a steady 70mph. You're certainly in the right place here if you're looking for mps advice!

If I was you, I'd go for this one http://bit.ly/1fldm47It's a very knowledgable members on here who's an excellent mechanic and no £ was spared and it was tuned by our best tuner on here also. Bargain. And it's stupidly quick, Cheshire Cat smile quick!
