Hello lads.

New owner from just outside Lanark in Scotland. Been eyeing these for the last year or so and finally have one! It's a white 58 plate facelifted pre-facelift with the aero kit on 36000 miles. And I have to say I'm absolutely in love. I stupidly picked an RX8 over one of these a few years ago and wish I hadn't, what a machine! Been stalking the forum for ages so pretty clued up so far. It's already got a SRI and TIP with secondary decat and recirc valve. I have a downpipe sitting waiting to go on but obviously need a map with it. I'm currently trying to arrange to get that, the HPFP and a remap done at the same time to save any hassle. Now I've been emailing Gunther back and forward and unfortunately with my time off work next week he wouldn't have time to fit the downpipe but he'd be able to do the rest. Now, is it acceptable to drive the 150 odd miles to his with the downpipe fitted or would that kill my turbo? I have a crail raceway day next Sunday so it preferably needs to be done by then.

I was also in contact with Ecotune on hillington who seem clued up. However, their prices are far higher than that of Total MPS. Anyone any experience with them?

Anyway I'm rambling so here's some pictures just now with my pals MPS who's also on the forum.

Cheers
Jack

:welcome: to :mpsoc: . You have quite possibly the rarest MPS going, very very few Aero facelift's in White.

You'll be fine with the downpipe fitted as long as you don't boot it on the way down.

Cheers lads! Aye the engine bay is quite a mess and there's a stupid Mazdaspeed badge on the battery cover that needs removed as well. Where abouts are HQ based?

Cant be both :D Must be facelift as I don't think there were any pre-facelifts in white?

I was going to say HQ too since its closer to you and are known and trusted on here. Alternatively stick with Gunther and get him to tune it with the Cobb AP which you then get to keep and fettle with as mods are added in the future ;)

Nice car though!

Cheers guys phoned HQ there and he's going to email me regarding prices!

I just assumed since its a preface lift but the later one with piano black dash!

Chances are ill stick with Gunther and get the downpipe fitted beforehand and just drive down! I'd rather not get a Cobb AP since I'd rather not go daft with performance and keep it the way it is once the basic stuffs done.

the Cobb AP is much than something to tune your car, can be used to monitor your engine vitals or as a code reader. you can also use it to measure performance, 0-60 etc

Ill consider it but even with all it's great features I can't really justify paying that sort of money that probably won't get much use.
