Depending on when you read this! Hello all Name's Kearon, Most call me 'Key'. Not an MPS owner yet, but looking very likely I'll be buying one shortly! I'm after a Mk2 3 Having to take my time looking around at the mo though as I'm only on a 10k cash budget. I'd have considered the mk1 if the Tax wasn't a killer. Alittle about me; Been pretty car mad since I passed my test 10 years ago, starting off in a Chav-tastic Pug 207. Eventually making my way up in the world with VVTL-i's Corollas and a TT Legacy B4. Full name and shame list on request! Now looking at the MPS's, Love the way they look and the 4 doors is quite handy with 2 kiddly winks to lug around, too. Surprisingly low insurance on 'em too! All the more reaosn to get one on my Drive ASAP I'm an Admin on a few OC Forums, and a Moderator on others so no stranger to how things work around these sorta places! I'm also a bit of a gaming geek on the PC. When I'm not in work, with my kids or dabbling with cars I have my head buried in my headset shouting profanities at friends. Love anything from MMO's to FPS and racing. If you have any questions, or wish to just mock me in any way, shape or form! Please feel free to do so! ;)

I'm hounding dealers at the minute...
Just rang the guys at Rochdale and asked what's the utmost lowest they'd take on a 12k Mk2.. haha.
The problem is, I don't actually have the cash in my hand until early next week, so It's pointless in me going out of my way to actually view any until I have the money in my hand.
Second problem being the reason I'm car hunting, I don't have one! My last 2ZZ-Ge decided to throw a Conrod at the bottom end when driving up to the lakes to get Married! Been carless for a month now... hehe

You should be able to pick up a mk2 for £10k - i did think about it myself a few days ago as they are dropping in price a little but the ugly bump nose still hasnt grown on me :(

I do have a few things I need to work around, Due to recent bad luck with Purchases we're going Dealer Only. So I need to work around their stupid profit margins. Speaking to the Guy at Rochdale, I could semeingly get a £12k, 59 plate with 29k miles down to £11k just by speaking on the phone for 5 minutes. There's some on Mazdas website for 11k which I could probably get down to 10k, however it has 62k Miles on it. The miles don't bother me so much, as it has FMDSH but it bothers the mrs slightly. As for you concerns over the nose - I like both! I do think the Mk2 is prettier, but I'm not going anywhere near the Mk1 purely for the tax costs. hehe. The mrs struggles to justify £280 a year!

I've bored people with the tax costs thing before however a 2008 - 2009 mk1 will save you more cash in the purchase price than buying a more expensive mk2 of pretty much the same age to save a couple of hundred a year on tax.. Mileage wise you may even get better on a mk1.
