Hi folks, I joined here back in 2011 (not sure why it says 2012?!) when I was very very close to buying a white Mazda 3 MPS Aero on a 58 plate (so the Gen2 Mk1) but bottled it last minute through fear of depreciation costs, tax costs and wanting something a little more exclusive as opposed to a hot hatch, so started looking at 2 seaters and the like. The 3MPS is an amazing car though and one of the best hot hatches around. I just thought as I had some savings and no kids I'd take the opportunity whilst I could! So a little about me, I'm from Bristol, 28 and love cars! My history is: Volvo 340 1.4 (hahaha!) but they do use them as drift cars now! Good rear wheel drive fun for a first car. Renault Clio Williams 2 x Rover 2.0 GSDI's (don't ask!) Citroen Saxo VTS Skoda Octavia vRS Which I used to tow this: But then sold both the vRS and the go kart to get this (as opposed to the 3MPS): But I struggled with the convertible image and way of life but loved the sense of occasion with the Z4. So that left me only one option! An amazing epic car, the best I think I'll ever own. BUT, a relocation to East Mids and upgrade of house and starting a family means it's now up for sale But after a few weeks of looking at options ( http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=48940) it was always going to be an MPS! So I pick this little beauty up on Thursday, can't wait! http://www.marriottsmazda.co.uk/used/MA ... V78966867/ It doesn't have Nav but does have parking sensors. This car has done 6k miles almost exactly every year, has been serviced at the same dealer without fail every 12 months, same guy bought from this Mazda garage new where all the services have been done. The car is unmarked, I mean literally not even one stonechip! Came with 4 brand new Bridgestones, new discs and pads all round, had a full big service and mot 2 weeks ago; it's mint! 12 months tax also and was registered early March so is in the cheaper bracket Getting a full Mazda 12 month warranty too... I'm really chuffed, it's such a great car and am looking forward to reading some more about it on this forum. I really want to keep it OEM as it's so pristine, just bloomin stumbled across this though! viewtopic.php?f=86&t=5955Very nice but Anyway, hope you're happy to have me! I'm finally in an MPS

Hello and along... Really great car you've got there, ticks all the boxes I only ever had minor plans of lowering it, tinted windows and aftermarket exhaust... It soon spirals out of control Those amber bumper reflectors should be painted black ASAP! Hate those things

Welcome. Agree about the reflectors but would only paint them if I could revert them to OEM. These could become sort after but only OEM. May not of course.

Liquid plastic in a spray tin. If you mess it up or after a while dont like it, peel it off. It's like magic in a jar Some people have plastidipped their whole car.

Yep. Just plastidipped mine. Looks great and withstands car washing etc but can be reverted back if need be. I picked up a couple of spares of Dougie anyway to make the job a bit easier. Makes a huge visual difference.
Looks like you've got a great buy. Don't be surprised if the alloys have already had a refurb. It looks as though the calipers at least have had a coat of silver paint. I don't like the colour of the oem alloys, but again a refurb to anthracite or black looks great. Side repeaters look really white on a black car too (and would look even more so if you went with darker alloys). See how one thing leads to another? Welcome along (well OK you joined to years ago but first post all the same).

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, yer the ginger repeaters are not good I agree! It's a common mod on the Z to 'de-ginger' the car (well the older E85 shape). So I guess I might be doing that! So they don't offer a clear plastic aftermarket one? Shame, suppose plastidip will work though. I would quite like to darken the wheels to anthracite, oh and what is with the pea shooters in those big oval pipes?! Maybe an aux and Bluetooth connection and that'll be it, oh and a remap!! Anyways, 40 hours till pick up Oh and gronow I don't have a lot of cash, just a little which is always tied up in cars! Hence selling the Z4M, buying the MPS and putting the leftovers into a house (near Shepshed/Loughborough moleymoley!)

Thanks I'm really going to miss my Z Still debating whether I've made the right decision, I love this car so much but unfortunately there's no way I can afford to run both! Anyway, 15 hours till collection of the MPS!! Got a 4hrs 40mins train journey first tho :( But a 3hrs 30mins drive back...!
