Has anyone told there insurance about putting the filter on their car and has it affected their insurance premium?

If it's on the car it needs to be declared but you may be better off with a modification friendly insurer. Full club members have access to discounts from modification friendly insurers.

A filter made no difference to my insurance but always best to declare it. Don`t expect the call centre to understand what you are talking about.

Right the Air filter is on now - not too difficult to fit and I did it quite quickly - but it is a naughty engine bay with lots of things to cut little pinkies. Very first thing that I did was to cut my finger.

What a wicked noise though - I was a bit worried that it would be too noisy but it is not too in your face at all --- NICE WOOOSSSH

Here she blows on all her glory (or should I say SUCKS!?)

I phoned my insurance and it cost me 20 quid extra - all of which was admin fees to change the details - bloomin' thieves

Next up is a side winder and a new bypass valve just not sure which one yet

Thanks for the comments guys - now I am not sure if it is just the effect of the noise of the filter or if it has done that must to the performance but I swear that it feels quicker. I took a mate out in it before and after the filter was fitted and even he thought that there was a noticeable difference..

I was thinking of getting the same turbo smart valve - does it sound that much different to the original one?
