Hi everyone, hope you guys can help.Looking at purchasing 2008 CX7 and have read lots from American sites about the CX's problems but can't seem to find any British sites specific to the CX7 so thinking its almost the same animal as you guys with 3 & 6 MPS's can you tell me what to look/check for on a 2008 65000 mile CX7 .Also if its not smoking and the vvt sounds okay what can I do to prevent any future problems ie banjo bolt and change to 5W 30.Also do you have any plans to start a CX7 section ?.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give

My lass has a cx7 too. Great cars. Smoking exhaust on idle for 10mins. Not sure about the rest! Tracking possibly and ours needed a new abs sensor before we bought it.

I'm sure there will be a CX-7 section soon enough seeing as we share engines.

Hi & :welcome:

Add ABS sensor to your list and sounds as though you've got most covered.

Just to help a little, we tend to find that same issues crop up between Mazdaspeed's and the MPS such as turbo seals and VVT like you have mentioned. So anything they say about the CX7 I would take on board too.

Good idea to change oil to 5w40 or 10w40 next time. Suitable for the MPS engine of course.
