Hello all,

I pick up a 56 plate 6 MPS on Saturday and am trying to figure out the best way of insuring it - a bit of advice would be much appreciated.

Im 35, full NCB, no mods to car, no points, no accidents

Quoted 630 by Adrian Flux, or 500 by LV (who I'm currently with) but LV stipulate a tracker on it. Needs to be covered for around 9000 a year, with a small amount of business use on it.

Trackers - anyone got any real world experience? - the Locate seems like it's a decent installation cost right now of 235 but the subscription is high (174)

Or any other suggestions on insurers. I won't be modding it - anyone on here my sort of age that thinks I can do better than the above?

Thanks - looks like a great community - have joined and will no doubt find myself back here often.

Before I got mine I ran it through moneysupermarket and go compare. quotes were starting in the £300's for fully comp.

No way would I have a tracker!
Defeats the purpose of a performance car then.

Tiger car insurance are great! They're like gocompare etc but for performance cars

Kenny the tracker he's on about is for theft and not monitoring. Don't see why they'd want a tracker to be honest

Thanks for the replies - have been through the suggestions.

The most promising so far is 500 with 250 excess, myself and wife named, 9000 miles a year, business use (small amount) , no tracker, which seems to be about the best out there.

Will keep looking but the above is doable.

Never heard of an insurance company stipulating a tracker on an MPS. Normally applies to the likes of high risk cars like Evos and Scoobies.

I had the same thing with LV asking for a tracker. Try AXA - worked for me.

Do you plan on modifying the car?

I've paid up, I'll give Aviva and Sky a bell tomorrow thanks. No plans to mod, it's covered under Mazda warranty for a year so I won't be fiddling.
