Hi, I'm a new member and I'm looking into buy a 3mps, I've deceived that I want a mk2 one as I prefer the looks of it compared to the previous model. Would appreciate any advise on what to look for I've read about gearboxes being an issue? Also rear mount? I've got about 11k to spend on the right car. My current car is a Mondeo St TDCI remapped by Celtic tuning...190bhp and bags of torque . I like it but the mrs thinks its too big! So time to change.Cheers.Darren.

Hello and The gear boxes arnt the best, but not heard of one failing, yet. Do you mean the rear engine mount? There isn't a problem with it, just many change them a it helps getting the power down and less wheel spin.

The mk 2 has an aux input, so you won't be able control the ipod from the stereo unless you buy a x-car link. I think somewhere on the forum there's a how to.
The torque steer isn't as bad as the reviewers say, it's a load of rubbish. Any FWD car with over 200 bhp is going to have a little bit of torque steer.
Bose is good, the sounds are very clear, but there isn't a lot of bass.
