Hi all, thought it about time I introduced myself as I've been browsing for quite a while. I'm an east London boy...well, man...Oh alright then I'm a 6 owner - I'm a very middle-aged man and I've had the 6 for just over a month now.

My only other forum post was to ask about underbody rust when I went to view a couple. In the end I left them alone as the service histories just weren't as the dealer had stated. This one I picked up privately (has the satnav) and the titanium grey bodywork is mint. It's on 50k and has been serviced bang on 9k it's whole life and everything is fully receipted, etc. Only thing I might get done in due course is to powdercoat the wheels (there's a bit of kerbing and first signs of corrosion). Also the 'red' calipers are faded so I think I'll paint them hammerite blue - especially if I go for graphite wheels. Don't really want to paint them on my street so I'll be on the search for a location I can do this (any ideas?!).

I know you'll all be suggesting remaps, etc, but I'm not sure about that right now. Both my previous motors I had remapped (a Seat Toledo V5 and an Audi A4 190 sport which I still have but am getting shot of - that gained to 212 and the map on that improved the low down torque no end). I'll see how things go anyway - reliability is essential for me. Hope I'll be contributing on here every now and then - although there's people with tons more experience than I. Loving how she drives so far.

Anyway, here's a couple of phone pics of the car, hastily washed but not been given the works yet:

@DJJUT Thanks mate. Yes, you're right - the TK Maxx was a giveaway!

I work for London Overground myself. I'll keep my eyes open for you as yours is certainly distinctive - a credit to you.

@Gavin - Yes indeed, was looking for a while to find a nice example.

Thanks Kev & James for the further welcomes. Expect to be moved on from Galleons reach! - I was there for about 5 mins having filled up with momentum and inspecting the car after it's wash and security came over to say I had to leave because I was in a permit car park - there were no signs up or anything.

I'm just now getting quotes for powdercoating the wheels anthracite. Anyone any ideas where I could park up and have a bit of space umolested to paint my calipers first before the rims go in for a refurb?

Odd, i've parked there loads and never had any bother. All the spaces by the fuel station are for the eateries opposite, so as long as you're a customer they should never bother you. Same for the shops opposite. You clearly look dodgy!!

Nowhere really i'd want to park up with wheels off waiting for paint to dry!!

Yeah, they weren't the ones right outside the food places but on the other side of the petrol station. I had done the same thing a couple of weeks ago when I took photo's of my A4 to put up for sale - there wasn't a single other car there then. This time there were about 30-40 cars at the end of the car park nearest to the petrol place, even though I had swathes of space near me.

The security bloke said that car park 'E' was now permit only and they were going to put up larger signs to say that. Don't know if it's a knock-on for the Olympics or for council workers or what? He was OK, he even suggested another car park I could go to but I was done by then anyway and he had looked a bit apprehensive approaching a 6'1" 17st fella hundreds of metres from any assistance, so I was nice and polite with him!
