Hi there I'm Phil. I've just bought a MPS6 from a member on here (StevieMPS). Long story short: I went 560 miles in 10 hours to pick up my MPS, also have a Nissan Primera (which will be going) and a Toyota MR2. Long story long: Like Steve I'm also from a background with Nissan Primera's (it's how I know him). I've had my current Primera for 6 years but it will be going shortly once the number plate transfer goes through. However that's not all I own. 2 years ago my nan passed away so I used my inheritance to buy a car I've wanted since I was 10. A Toyota MR2 mk2, after wanting one for 15 years it couldn't just be any old MR2, had to be something special. Eventually I found it, a Caribbean Blue Anniversary Limited Edition (number 122 of 250). It's a UK car so no turbo, but that's what I wanted. Recently I've been driving my mum's car a lot (Saab 9-3 2.6 V6 turbo) and been thinking more and more of getting a new car but I've been so in love with both my cars that I couldn't stomach getting rid of either. It was only recently that a friend of mine offered me his Civic Type-R (FN2) for effectively free (I'd take on the payments and he wanted nothing more than that) that I decided it was time for something newer with some more power. Unfortunately that fell through as Honda would not transfer the finance (and I wasn't about to pay £9,000 up front for a car worth £8,000). So then the search was on. I wanted something newer, with more power and more luxurious. Initially I looked at other Civic Type-R's, then looked at the older ones but decided they were too basic. Then I went for full luxury and looked at Mercedes (CLK's in particular) but decided to get one with enough power to satisfy me was going to cost a fortune. Then I went insane and looked Evo X's, I found one nearby (FQ-300) and went to have a look while the garage was shut (so there isn't a salesman following around rubbing his hands). Fell in love instantly, the price seemed really good (£17k down from £20k) and was within my budget on finance (no chance of buying outright). So I went away with the decision made, I'll go and do some insurance quotes and so long as it's less than a grand a year I'll have it. Very quickly went off it when the quote was not over £1k a year but over £2k a year, £2,200 to be exact! And that's with 6 years no claims. Back to looking around. Was chatting to Steve on facebook about the Evo and he said I should buy his MPS. Coincidentally I had been looking at it 5 minutes before. So I threw in a very cheeky offer and he accepted it Just one small issue Steve lives in Cumbria, I live 270 miles away in Surrey. Looked at flights and trains but then spoke to my friend with the Type-R and got him on board to drive me up there which we did yesterday. Set off at 2pm, got back home at midnight. Probably close to 9 hours constant driving (had a few breaks to eat and stock up on red bull and obviously getting the car) for him and the Type-R took it without complaint. His AC threw a hissy fit and threw out a load of condensation which worried us a little at the Stafford services but other than that. And most amazingly to me used less than a tank getting there (lots of M6 traffic kept us from pushing too hard), and less than a tank coming back as did the MPS. If you read the whole thing you've got some amazing patience. Absolutely amazed by the MPS coming home, also saw a Red MPS3 on the M25 just after a set of road works, gave the driver a nod not sure if it was anyone on here I'm not planning to mod it but the same could be said about the Primera and MR2, which are both modified. I'll sort out some piccies later, just wanted to get the intro out the way first.

Welcome to the forum mate but if you're planning to leave it standard you're better off staying off the forum as its very addictive as there is always group buys going on.
But seriously mate enjoy

Haha it's very doubtful it'll stay standard. I've been looking at all sorts of mods already. Are there any other good sites for me to check out with Mazda specific parts that are in the UK. Most stuff I've found is in the US and will rape me for shipping (or is this why there's a lot of group buys to save on shipping).
Are any of you guys going to be at Japfest 2 as I'll be there in the MPS but on the NPOC stand. I forgot to mention that in my mammoth post, I'm staff on NPOC so will likely still be sticking with them for the big events (Japfest's and JAE). But if I know MPS Owners will be at them I'll make the effort to come over for a chat and see the cars.

Ah ok. That would explain it.
It is a breath of fresh air having lots of parts to look at even if it is all stateside. The Primera was not easy to find things for, in fact before joining the owners club modding it had never even crossed my mind. I'd changed the head unit and that was it.
