Hello one and all.

Well after an unfortunate incident involving an A4 parking in the rear seat of my RX8 I've decided on the Mazda 3 MPS as a more than suitable replacement

I had looked at these a few years ago but had turned to the dark side of diesel for a while!

I shall hopefully be viewing one later this evening or early in the week and am hopeful that it is as described. 2007 | 50k miles and photos show good condition with recent service and rear shocks having been replaced.

I'm now going to spend the morning researching through the forum for what to look for on first purchasing.

After that my thoughts lay with a few months of standard-ish driving (I'm on the hunt for a Hypertech unit!) and then take it from there

So hello to each of you and I look forward to hoovering up all the information that lies within!

Just one quick question - is this forum compatible with tapatalk? as I can't seem to locate it through the app on my phone.

Now time to take the dog for a walk!

:)

Him good luck with the search. You won't be disappointed.
The hypertech units come up on here quite regular but have a read about Versatune as it has had great results for the mk1.

The forum doesn't support tapatalk either.

Hello and :welcome: aboard

Hypertech would be a nice first buy and once you want more power other options are available :D

Are you aware of what to look out for when viewing the car?

Hi all, thanks for the replies.

And yeah I thought hypertech would be nice until I have enough money and time for a bit more spanner work myself :) which would then warrant custom / live mapping.

And nope I've not stumbled onto an actual buying guide of points to look out for. I'd know my way around a car quite well but I know little in terms of these specific cars. I'm hoping to get some time for forum research before I look at the local one for sale.

Thank you ^

Tonight is looking less likely for a viewing as still waiting to hear back due to the owners shiftwork and I'm due at a BBQ later. However on the plus side it gives me even more time to read the forum :)

On a side note - how long does it normally take for OC Membership to kick in, in relation to being able to post a wanted thread etc?

Thanks again.

:welcome: Good luck With the search you won't be disappointed when you get one.
On the Hypertech subject I've just got one and installed it on my 6 and it has made a noticeable difference and definately pulls better especially at the top end of the rev range. I think it's a good place to start as I'm only planning on having it for a few months till I either decide on versatuner or taking it to xo
