Hi all. This is my first visit to your club since getting my 2011 3mps last sept, i was just wondering how you rated your dealer, before i decided to buy the car i had heard that mazda dealers had a poor reputation for customer service and this sadly has been my experience, great car but at times regretted buying it.Absolutely no mechanical problems but shocking aftersales issues and broken promises

I think there are some that are better than others and maybe worth searching on here for some of the more reputable ones

RRG in Stockport sold the car I was on my way to go buy. Even though I said I would have it over the phone but didn't want to give someone I hadn't spoke to before in the dealership my credit card details. On arriving at the dealership 10 min max away from my house with £500 in my pocket I was told the car was sold. Communications really really poor. Never been back since even though the sales manager got an mps in I told him to poke it.

It does vary across dealers and even across staff at the same dealer.
It will be the same for every make of car I'm afraid.

I dislike my dealer and will never return... Once they've got the sale they couldn't care less in my experience

RRG Manchester sold me my car but also registered me with 6 other cars, so had 7 letters from then telling me services were due and 7 letters from the security register asking me to pay a fee for all 7 cars!
I stick to Warrington now never had a problem.

I'm afraid some are better than others - the scumbags in peterborough did the sell the car before you get there and not bother to tell me trick too.
But in defense - Rockingham in Corby have been great, I havent had major issues with my 6 or my wifes mx (touches wood) - but have had a friend with an RX8 that had issues and they were good to him. Very professional and supportive/fair.

Yup you will always have problems with main dealers, not just Mazda. I've also had bad experience's with the 'local' dealer...Arnold Clark

Hang on, all I did was decline to give a person I hadn't spoke to before during the deal, which by the way had been going on for a few days with the same person. I then told this salesman over the phone that I would take the car and I am leaving the house now with the money. I live less than 3 miles away from RRG. That's fine he said "see you soon". So why am I not within my rights to be pissed off? They knew me and the fact I was coming to give them the money less in less than 10 min. Does the world revolve around getting my credit are details now ah? Was a verbal agreement over the phone not enough?

No obviously not, another salesman might have had another customer doing exactly the same and might have taken a deposit, it's first with a deposit at a Dealership really, if I had a pound for everyone who said they were coming in to buy I'd be able to retire now.
We refund all deposits if the car is not as described by the sales person but we expect some commitment from a customer to take a car off sale. Like you say you were on going and had plenty of time previously to buy the car, you missed it shit happens. They even found you another car and you cut your nose off, you can't please some people !!!
Theres always two sides to a story think you were unfair in your opinion that's all.

Ok fair enough I am not going to fall out with folks. Yeah I admit I had time to pay previous but it was the bit over the phone I was pissed with. And you are right **** does happen. I suppose things happen like this more often than I know as I am not buying cars every week, but I just felt a bit aggrieved that's all. I'd worked out a deal, wanted to think about it. I know where your coming from but I was genuine. I lost out and I ended up getting my motor from somewhere. So can we draw a line under this I respect where your coming from and I was probably a bit childish in not going to see the other car but we live and learn ah. I still don't give my card details over a phone though.

Yeah fair enough I always cut my nose off on a regular basis !!!
With working at a Dealer it is frustrating sometimes, besides yourself the salesman you were dealing with will have lost out and be just as upset as you, people don't realise this and probably got his manager to find you another car ??
Anyway all the best hope you enjoy yours.
