hi there can anyone advice me i have a mk1 3 mps on a 06 plate its not a aero. i am looking at getting some lowering spring for it. what i would like to know is would it be ok to just install the springs without changing the dampers or would this not be a good idea. the car has done 33000 miles. i know they say you should change both but i just wondered would it be possiable.. thanks for any replies....

You could change to the same as the Aero model, but depending on price I would personally be pretty tempted to look into the Bilstein ones with spring and damper...have a look around on the forum for more info on them

Yer i agree, the 3 and the 3 aero have the same dampers, meaning the aero is underdamped with the eibach springs. I believe bilstein b12s are the eibach springs with bistein b6 dampers, probably the best option. i am looking at getting some b6s for mine.

the Bilstein and eibach pro kit lowers it i think about 25mm front 15mm rear and they come in at about just under 600.00 does that sound a fair price or should i be looking somewhere else????

dont know about the dampers but i kniw the springs are differant and havnt caused any problems. coil oves are an option if you can budget for it. putting the aero springs on is the cheeper option i have read people getting mazda to do it and the only charge about £300 fitted but can be done for alot less if you get an idependant gagage to fit them.

You'll be fine fitting eibach springs to your aero and shop about for fitting as it shouldn't cost too much at all.where are you based?
