Hello people. I am looking at a 6 MPS tomorrow and just thought I'd do a bit of homework before I commit to buy. Is there anything particular I should look out for? Its a 56 plate 74000 its had,quote....TIMING CHAIN, NEW CHAIN ADJUSTERS, NEW TENSIONERS, NEW VARIABLE VALVE TIMING PULLEY. Thanks and I hope to learn alot from you fellas. Oh,i drive at the moment an 04 ST170 with a map. J

Hi and welcome. I too have just bought a 56 reg 6MPS, and I'd say they're reasonably bullet-proof tbh. Just look out for the usual things, smoking turbo, big end knock, clutch slip etc. I'm sure someone else will be along soon to point you in the right direction for other things to look out for.
