Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum but have had several mazda 3 from the 1.6 TS to the Sport and now the owner of a 63 plate MPS Planning on taking it to BBR for a stage two upgrade but still doing my research and mulling it over. Looking forward to getting to know you all and hopefully coming on a few meets. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

Hello and welcome. Don't take it anywhere regards the tuning. Get parts yourself and fit them if you're ok with some spanners or get a garage to do them, then get a map using either cobb access port or versatune and get a tuner to e tune you. I hugely recommend freektune. https://www.freektune.com/

I had contemplated doing my own mods and getting the access port but I've read so many good things about the BRR stage 2 and 3. The downpipe from the turbo is also supposed to be a nightmare to get to isn't it? Any suggestions on mods to take it up to around 320 - 350? I know the fuel pump will need upgrading. Honestly, go the etune route. The dp can be a bit of a pita but it's nothing too extreme, just swearing at seized bolts ha. For 350, you'll need a bigger turbo.

BBR use generic downloaded maps for the mps, that's not a good thing. Also, people have gone there for parts fitted, paid, then later down the line found out the parts were never fitted, Jonny Gwango paid thousands and thousands to them, including for forging his engine, didn't use his parts etc. Be wary.

I've got the BBR 290 phase 1 running on my car that was put on by the previous owner, I've not had any problems so far, it's been on the car for about 4 years and 18000 miles. The software they use is ecutek I believe.
Something to be aware of is that BBR lock your ecu after the remap so if you then wanted to go down the etune route you'd have to go back to BBR to unlock the ecu which is something I'm considering doing.
I've heard only good things about freektune...

I've heard only good things about freektune... They charge you £75-125 to unlock it too. I've unlocked other BBR cars for people for free, as have other ecutek garages.

Looks like I'll be fitting everything myself then I'm planning on starting with the upgraded fuel pump. Was going to go with the corksport max flow fuel pump internals. From there I'll replace the downpipe not sure what with yet, if anyone's got any recommendations. Next step will be to fit a corksport stage 1 short ram intake and possibly the air box - with any opinions on the box? Not sure it's worth it really for the sake of just keeping on top of the maintenance of the filter. Then get the COBB Accessport V3 and get it mapped. Was thinking about upgrading the TMIC to an Airtec TMI instead of going for FMIC. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the replies guys. Seems like a great community to be a part of.
