P.S. Luke's car has a new turbo (BNR3, 400bhp capable) and new VVT, so two of the big issues are sorted.

Welcome to the club mate! Hope you find a nice example! HAHAHA! cheers mate, I do love her and by far the most attractive car I have ever owned and will be the saddest to see her go. I want torque though! not just horsepowerz and 9000rpm :p She's not slow but she's not fast if you want to be gentle. I think of her as a bit of slut, wants you to pull her hair all the time ;) If I could afford to boost her, I wouldn't dare change to anything else, she's perfect and although not very comfy or practical, her looks tend to keep me in love. I walk away looking back at her like an idiot at least 10 times a day or watch her reflection in every shop window I go past LOL

rick6 wrote: Welcome bud. I was considering a teg but was more than I wanted to spend for a decent one so ended up with a 6. Fair bit of work to do before you can go for mega power on a 6, little less on a 3. Find one with the ground work done already; rear engine mount (referred to as rem or rmm), high pressure fuel pump (hpfp) internals upgraded and on a 6, diff mounts too. Then get a self remapping tool (Cobb accessport or versatune laptop software, then air intake, downpipe, remap and you're at 300bhp 320lbs. Add a fmic and dirty great big tubby for 380bhp and over 400lbs torque. Then it gets tougher to break 400 horses. Swap out dampers for bilstein b8 and add eibach pros, maybe some braces. 0-60 in around 4.5 to 5 seconds If you find one claiming to be mapped which has not had hpfp be cautious. And timing chains are notorious failure points. Bit of a false statement this mate ^, the MK1 & 6 will run fine with no HPFP internals with just a map, and even a SRI/TIP & Decat. It’s the MK2 where you need them before anything. Obviously you'd be better with them for precaution but not 100% necessary until you’re adding downpipes etc….

I walk away looking back at her like an idiot at least 10 times a day or watch her reflection in every shop window I go past LOL This was the reason i parted with my EP3 mate, the lack of torque is laborious but I’ll be honest I seriously miss the K20. The engine in the MPS is very torquey but lacks any character and dare I say it a little boring in standard guise, much better with a few choice mods but you will never replicate the sound/feeling of the K20 especially with the Tegiwa intake (obviously one being a high revving N/A and the other turbo charged). I had the AEM CAI and Supersprint cat-back on mine and it was such a great sound. My mate still to this day reckons my ep3 would wipe the floor with my current 6, it’s all about the fun factor and the feeling of speed in the Honda. Mine's for sale if you fancy the more practical 6 (see sig)

I know what you mean though, one of my pals had the dc5 in blue, but that is probably the best description of thrashing a car ive heard!

I look at my car every 30 mins at work Last car was 106bhp so this was a big jump, I think I'm handling the power quite well Thrashing it low rpm and at roundabouts is the best part, they don't have speed cam at roundabouts yet too Best car I've ever had!
