It's 350 miles away from me, not sure about the OP. But for the right car, a £50 flight is worth it imo

Arnold Clark dealerships cover the UK. Maybe a local dealership could get it down to you. They do it for new cars.

I'm the other end of the country but have spoken to them and I am keen. I am happy to travel for the right car but obviously there are a lot more questions to ask up front and it's a bit riskier with the time and money wasted on travelling. A single on the train is about 65 quid. Obviously the hope would be to not need a return! I don't suppose anyone lives in newcastle and fancies a good look at it as a favour in return for some beer tokens?

I'm in newcastle mate, when I was looking at a mazda 6 sport (stupid idea :() they said they would deliver for 100 to the dealership, might be a better Idea because even a cheap train/flight thats 350miles to drive it back haha :p
I can see about popping over with me brother maybe tomorrow or monday? Get some photos, record engine bay on startup for VVT issues and see if they let it idle for 10mins then hoof it to check for turbo smoke. Make sure all tyres are the same with decent tread, get a decent pic of each alloy. If theres anything else anyone else can suggest I can check that too

That would be absolutely amazing if you could, thank you for the offer.....they might not be too keen on the revving to check for turbo smoke but it's a genuine issue to be ruled out I suppose. Apparently the car is locked away until Monday so no point even thinking about going beforehand. I have asked for the service history, general photographs and for the sales guy to have a good study and feel of the rear arches for any signs of corrosion. You guys all know these cars much better than me so I'd be looking for normal stuff like any leaks underneath, general bodywork and panel gaps, evidence of any overspray on trims and rubbers, seat bolsters, gearbox feel, clutch, aircon, etc and then the MPS specific stuff that I've read about here such as vvt noise, turbo smoke, tyres matching, tey to check the awd appears to be functioning ok (may need a wet road for that). The only other thing that comes to mind after reading on here is to check for any damp in the boot by the spare wheel from a leaky boot or light seal. If I can get a good amount of confidence in its condition from an experienced member here then I'd be much much happier paying the deposit for it to be brought down. That said, would a 350miler really be that bad...... I could bond with the car before I have to share it with the wife!

A tank costs me 70-75 and I get approx 270 miles to a tank so add a train ticket on top and another 30 quid or so on petrol and its probably going to be cheaper if they will transport it down for you, might even get them to transport it free If you're 100% going to take it.

Oh dear, it's showing up as sold on the site now. That's not a good sign.
I'll speak to them tomorrow and find out if someone went in today to take it. :(

Well I called Monday, Tuesday and again today but can't get through to the sales guy I spoke to on Saturday and can't get a call back or an answer about the car. I'm thinking it's gone.
