Here in the UK, the 6MPS is a very rare car. Is it rare in Singapore? How many have you seen since June?

One thing I can confirm is that it will certainly be the most expensive MPS on the forum. Tax on cars is huge and you need a very expensive license just to own a car. Eugene will confirm, but the cost of the license alone was probably more that our cars were new in the UK.

foxy wrote: Here in the UK, the 6MPS is a very rare car. Is it rare in Singapore? How many have you seen since June? Sorry for the late reply as I was out the last few days. I think that there are only 15~17 and definitely less then 20 MPS 6 in Singapore. Cars in Singapore are really expensive as from the TV shows I seen, auto trader, wheeler dealers, Top Gear etc, you can get a car for GBP1000! Is is not about the tax which benp mentioned. Our cars have a "life" span for 10years once registered and either de-registered afterwards or renew the license. This license is known as COE (certificate of entitlement) which gives the car the road license for 10 years usage. Buying a brand new car in Singapore, firstly we have to bid for this COE (which 95% of owners will let the dealers arrange for us the bidding). When dealers bid for us, they will generally mark up the car price in the package and if that we were to purchase cars from dealers, most dealers will jack up the car price even more. To know more about car ownership, as due to our entitlement, our cars depreciate faster then any other places in the world. When we buy brand new car for instead a Mazda 3 SGD$84,488 (as on today), and sell within the first year, we will lose about SGD$20,000. Exchange rate is about GBP$1.00 = SGP$2.09 = GBP$9569. You guys may get a brand new Mazda 3 for about GBP 15,000 and what will be the average depreciations if purchase brand new and resale to a local dealer?

I may have been technically incorrect re-how cars are priced, but you have confirmed that they are extremely expensive!
