If you want full noise , you need to go catless all the way from the turbo and probably 3" and a tiny backbox.
So you will need a fuel pump and map.

Wouldn't catless cause problems come mot emissions testing time? I bought a catless cobra for my vxr but then had to have a sports cat fitted to pass my mot

Find a friendlier MOT guy :chin:

I'd rather my setup be all above board and MOT acceptable so catless isn't an option for me

In that case you can't even remove the second cat then

Im assuming then that my only option is just a Cat Back system

Would i get away without doing any other mods, or would i still require tuning etc?

The stock exhaust is good for upto about 400bhp so you'd only change it for audio (but to get to anywhere near that figure the DP has to be changed)
What you can get away without a map and stock exhaust is
HPFP internals
Sri & tip
Tmic
If you do want a deeper sounding exhaust the a cat back is for you
But to get te best out of them will require a map.

No i took mine from the 2nd cat all the way back.

I will tell you know if you just go for a catback alone you will be dissapointed sound wise.IMO its a waste of cash ,if you get underneath the car you can see the stock system is very good.

The backbox is massive but even mine since ive changed it isnt what you expect even on a cold start.

Hmm yeh i can see where you're coming from, best quote i had for a cat back system was £499 including VAT so like you say it's a lot of money for just noise.

Does that setup still pass the emissions test for MOT then?

Probably pass the emissions ,but won't pass the mot as you need 2 cats in place

Thats if they notice you should have 2 cats, many on here have past mot's without any issues with the 2nd cat removed

This is true.
But on new mot's now, the computer system at the garage is now linked to VOSA/DVLA or whoever it may be and it then states, 1 cat, 2 cats etc
