[quote="remix"]Hi mate, :welcome: I'm sure you will love the car....

mmm...Face lifts mk1s..Only 130 made in the UK as Richie says (and has one..lucky!) Change of colour to White from cosmic blue was the biggest thing along with Black alacantra seats, piano black dash with a little red mps logo, white speed dials, cruise control as standard, uprated vvt parts, aux/line in centre console/arm rest along with the usual aero upgraded facelift.

You have just described my interior. I have a facelift then :) thanks for that.
Only 130 made? I am glad I picked this one then :)

I am planning to mod, I have been looking at the BBR 320BHP package, is that any good?

Hello Welcome to :mpsoc:

Best bet for modding is have read on here.

I wouldn't recommend BBR to anyone, I think they are overpriced and they don't support the forum ( that's polite way of putting it)

There isn't too many down this way, the disi engine has had a fair few ZZB (zoom zoom boom) rods thrown due to other tuners (when you get round to reading previous posts) and has to be done right carefully. You can go self tune or e/tune emailed to you via CobbAP or Versatuner done by OBII plug in systems/laptops (plenty of support on here from threads Justin and Skipper and a lot of others).
BBR gti are local to us but charge a lot but it can then all be done in one day, then you have RS tuning in Leeds, and Total MPS (newcastle) who support the forum and are recommended. As Jim says plenty of reading for you to make your mind up but worth taking your time and maybe enjoying the car first and take it to its limits now, so you get a feel of all the useable power and the LSD (limited slip) with and without the DSC on and cornering fast as stock. Then decide would be my advice as an intake and a 2nd decat can make it feel nicer along with a few handling mods REM (rear engine mount) and an upgraded RARB (antirollbar) are good handling mods. Also consider HPFP (fuel pump internal upgrades over 300 bhp or before you start bigger power)

edit: I forgot the facelift also came with shadow chrome colour alloys as well

I will be going to Total MPS then by the looks of it.
Which intake would you guys suggest?
I was planning on going for the turbo back Corksport Exhaust system, as the only others I have seen are just CAT back.

Would I need a remap after an intake and decat?

I have found a whiteline RARB and a Sure Torq R3 REM. Are these any good?

You can use any cat back exhaust, as the downpipe and second decat are easily available from Gunther, if you are already going there for any work.

Most people run fine without the remap at the intake and second decat stage. You will need a remap if you go for no cats ie turbo back exhaust

Read read read. That's the best advice remix basically covered it ..............
Decide on your goals after reading when you are going to stop and what use the car has.
No use making a 500bhp car for the weekly shop or school run or a car that stiff or loud you can't hear anyone talk or a track car all power and no handling.
Take your time and choose the best package. Post up your main use of vehicle plenty of free advice then choose your path. Good luck

Okay cool

The car is my daily driver but i also want to use it for some track use and lot of fast road use :wings:

I am hoping to get more noise, as the standard exhaust is suprisingly quiet, this will not do. That's why I was planning on an exhaust and intake, I just can't decide which ones to get.
Apparently the Jetex is very quiet and I have ben told that their intake is terrible.

Are BOV's reccomended for these cars?

I also think I may have the VVT problem, even though mine is a facelift model. :chin:

You want to speak to Sir-Jon if you want a noisy exhaust!

Better to run a BPV rather than a BOV valve. To be honest, unless you are running lots of boost, the stock BPV is a bit of a noisy one with a good intake.

I wasn't even aware Jetex did an intake. You will get more noise by going catless, though you will need a friendly MOT man and a remap.

What colour seats do you have?? Grey or black alcantara? Im 1 of the lucky 130 to own a facelift model :D , not that im bragging or anything : shifty :

Likewise! I believe the the facelift MK1 aero. Did not know only 130 was made. That explains why I had so much difficulty finding mine. I looked and looked some more and finally find one. Paid £8500 for it : eek2 : . But I love it :)

Hi guys :)

Just bought my 3 MPS Aero. Beautiful car in true red.
Completely standard at the moment but easily the best car I've had so far.

I know literally nothing about these engines and how to tune them so I will be here looking for advice / ideas.
I will also attending any meets / shows that are on when I am not looking after my son, so see you there! :)

:welcome: to :mpsoc: You got the best colour too! me think ;) Obviously mine is red

I know you can get a custom exhaust with decat for £250 at custom pipes and that's with new tips pretty good price.
Best to look around and do your research on exhausts as can be a tricky road and can cost if you get it wrong.
The 2nd decat is good for noise and prob the best start and does let the car breath better and most people change the tips. I personally would lean toward keeping the backbox if you are fitting a downpipe to help combat the noise, chris has done this and his car sounds awesome.

Looking at buying a corksport stage 2 SRI. Apparently the TIP is included. Does £215 sound like a good price for these to you?
