Hi guys and gals

I'm not an MPS owners just yet, but I'm hoping to get a 6MPS within the next few months.

I've had various fast cars, including 2 Scoobies and an Evo.
I love Jap cars but I'm stuck in a focus estate derv at the moment, which is great on fuel (550-600 miles to a tank) but is about as entertaining as watching golf in a snow storm!

I've been toying with the idea of getting another Impreza sti and stealthing it (no silly scoop or spoilers) but the 6MPS has caught my eye as pretty stealthy as standard.

I'll spend a few hours looking through the forums before asking silly questions

Regards
Paul

Hello & :welcome: along!

Your in the right place for help, plenty of help and info available here mate
The 6 MPS can be had for a bargain these days, £460 per year tax unless you get a rare example which was registered before April 2006 or so.
Upgrades / maps are available at a limited amount of locations (3 or 4 main successful mappers throughout the UK) and most mods come from USA with a couple of places selling them direct from the UK

I knew someone would wanna watch golf in the snow, I hear its watched by many polarbears too! lol

Yes the £460 tax is 1 of the downsides, and the reason I had 05 and 55plate scoobies! Seen a couple of 55plate mps's for sale but I'm a bit fussy, so if it means paying £460 tax for the right car then so be it! (might register it in my moms name for free tax :) )

Thanks for the warm welcomes

I am tempted to do this for my Gran, but I would probably end up being her personal taxi service

HI & :welcome: :)

6MPS is a great stealth performance family saloon!!

You can easily breach 300BHP with a few mods and a map.

The pre-tax change Martin has mentioned is any model registered before March 23rd 2006. Tax is almost half! Mine was £260 for 12months this year. So try and find a 55 or 06 reg with as few miles as possible!

300bhp would be my target to start with. My Evo was 390 and the scoobs 330 and 360 but they all drank way too much vpower!
I want something a little more refined otherwise i'd be looking at a 400+ scooby.

The only pre march ones Ive seen so far have had around 100k on them. I saw a nice 06plate 46k but it was registered 12th april!! I'm in no rush at the moment, so I'll hold out for the one I cant refuse

Wow 100K. It's not a pretty figure when looking to buy but obviously modern cars can sail past that figure. Mine is currently at 75k but I only put 6k a year on if that!

Air Intake + Turbo inlet Pipe at the front, and 2nd decat plus Versatune or garage map should see you approach 300BHP if not pass it for less than £1k. Closer to £700 depending on what you go for!!!
