Just picked up an 08 3 MPS today. Already loving it and compley suprised I got 40MPG average on the motorway (with cruise on set at 70). Great car, loving already. Didnt know about the 98 RON thing though, but I've been reading around here and 95 is ok, just drops peformance a bit.

So hi all.. have been a long time member of the MR2 Roadster Owners club and organised a lot of their Treasure Hunts etc.. Looking forward to MPS ownership.

Alex

Hello and welcome.

Dont use 95, its ok for a one off fill up if you have to but not long term

I had a roadster which I lost to the pre-cat failure feature  shame as I really enjoyed it.

Yup Hello & :welcome:

I personally stick with V-Power, but on the odd occasion if it wasn't available would use what is...only ever done that once and owned for about 10 months.

40 mpg?? You just got it...so you should be enjoying the power haha!

I'm in Blyth, but my GF lives up in Alnwick so I bounce up and down the region.

Lucally my MR2 Roadster had the pre-cats taken out so I didnt suffer from it. So instead I drove it into a bush. Thats not recommended.

I enjoyed the first hour or so driving and got about 15mpg.. What a car!!

But yeah 40mpg.. very interesting.. didnt expect it.

Last night chucked in 10 quid of asda 95, but then read the cap and filled up with 50 quids worth of Vpower. Think the dealership stuck the original 10 quid in as 95, plonkers. I'll stick to shell Vpower and Tesco 99 in future.

Its a red non aero (well they said it was the areo when I bought it from a toyota dealer but I'm not convinced, the spoiler doesnt look big enough).

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Alex

hi all.. I say wey ay man.. when i'm talking to southerners.. keeps them smiling :)
so is it worth upgrading the suspension if I do have the non-areo.. and how can I tell.. do all aeros have the bigger spoiler?

Cheers,

Alex

EDIT: interestingly it seems to have mirrors that look like M3 ones!

all aeros should have the bigger spoiler yes.

easiest way is to get a picture up and we can take a look

i would say yes it is worth upgrading the springs if you have the non-aero, i did and was amazed at the difference.......

Really looks from that angle the same size might just be me lol

Have you bought outright or PCP? What are your plans?

Bought outright - plans.. well I modded my MR2 a reasonable amount so will probably end up doing the same.

Maybe if I ring Mazda they might be able to tell me?

I can take more pics tonight and post up.

Alex
