Hi my name is Ian. I live in Preston, Lancs. I am/have been a bugeye Subaru Impreza WRX owner for about 6 years now and after plenty of subtle mods taking it up to 330BHP, I have decided to take the plunge and move on. I have done a lot of looking at what car I want as a replacement, family car, safe, quick, comfortable, not in your face... etc. I have settled on a Mazda 6 MPS and am now looking for one. I test drove one at the weekend and really like them, unfortunately he has already sold it, otherwise I'd have snapped his hand off. What has really made me smile... is that you can mod them... when I get one, I'll only do subtle mods... honest I have enjoyed my membership and involvement on a local based Subaru Owners Club, so immediately looked for an owners club and found this... hence I am now signed up. Any way, just like to say hello and I look forward to many years enjoyable banter and ownership of an MPS (when I finally get one)

Welcome mate, You wont be disappointed with a 6MPS based on your criteria. Subtle, Safe, Family, Power! They aren't time attack Evo beaters, but can easily break 300BHP which will put a smile on your face.

Thanks for the warm welcome, reminds me of the Lancashire & District Subaru Owners Club which is also warm and friendly.
I will (when I get one) start asking all sorts of questions about modding, terminology seems a little different to Scoobs, but I suspect it is still the same, get as much air and fuel in and out as quickly as you can.
Seen the nice black car, trying to get away from that look, but must admit looks cool :-)
